Very well run house. Great citizen with a decent patient.
From bad experience with excursion restaurants, after a short, hectic menu study in the draughty (Corona) dining room (the waitress was finally there and a decision has to be made between ordering drinks and delivery, who knows when they will come back), I decided on a currywurst, you can't go wrong-so hope. The reality then teaches the opposite. I haven't eaten anything like this in my entire life. Almost assault. Fries ok, Majo from the tube too, the sausage and sauce probably from a can (I didn't know it was available until then, after yesterday and through goggles ...), disgusting. I did not complain, out of respect for the committed and, after initial difficulties, friendly but visibly overwhelmed service. Even if it helps one or the other do-gooder to gasp. No, I apologize for this quality, even if it is only prepared by "people with handicaps". Outwardly, "Haus Müngsten" appears as a normal restaurant, praises normal prices and as a guest I expect normal quality and service, no star level, but certainly also no "take a look at what's going to happen" level. The GF is welcome to learn here ...
Location beautiful, eaten the worst currywurst in my life, endures bland sausage in an acidic sauce, even our dog did not beg🤮
It's nice that you can combine your trip to the bridge park with a visit to this restaurant. The kitchen of the house offers a good and interesting selection of dishes, and the very large-volume rooms are very convenient for me during Corona times.
I waited 90 minutes for a piece of cake - and only about half of the tables were occupied by guests. Waffles are nothing. Toilets dirty. Building is new, well equipped and beautiful. The bridge park is really great. What a terrible waste for such a beautiful place !!!
The restaurant deserves one star for the great view and the food, which actually tasted good. So I can't say anything bad to the chefs. What we didn't like at all as a wedding couple was the type of service and how the management treated us. At first courteous and nice, but when you expressed negative criticism that wasn't even bad, but meant constructively, there was not even an honest apology or goodwill behavior. It was hushed up. Much of what we were promised was not fulfilled, and they didn't even drop a cent off the price. We would therefore not recommend a "wedding" or other celebration there. In addition, the search for a parking space is a mess there, at least on a Saturday when other hikers and tourists are parking there. In times of Corona it is also a cheek that you write "disinfectant" on the bottle, but there is only WATER in it. : D When we were there later to pick up something we had left there, we were treated disrespectfully. The boss, Ms. Groß, ran away from the back door, the dear Ms. Glasses (the GF's assistant had to stand up for it). You have to say, she tried to behave professionally and competently.
We were there yesterday. 2 couples with two children (9 months and 3 years). 90 minutes after ordering a total of 5 dishes, we tried to speak to a waiter. It wasn't that easy at all. We were constantly passed by. Then another table suddenly got their food (including a dish that we had also ordered) and they had entered the restaurant after us and ordered it later. I had the Wiener Schnitzel and it was the worst Wiener Schnitzel I have ever served. It was definitely thawed shortly beforehand, the breading was very hard and it didn't taste like anything. The side salad consisted of a lettuce leaf and a small tomato bush. Our wives had both ordered a salad. One of them doesn't like cheese and wanted the salad without mozzarella. She was told by the waiter: "I have to see if that works, but I can't make any promises!". Either extra requests are fulfilled or canceled. If there are no extra requests, then I understand that too. How do you react if the desired waiver is a food allergy? The waiter did not talk further about the subject and she got the salad with mozzarella balls without comment. My friend is also a waiter and has also worked in kitchens. There was black cheese on his burger, which is usually only made when it has already been on the grill and thus comes into contact with the new burger meat. This was pretty gross. Every complaint was dismissed emotionlessly with "I'm sorry". No redress, kind words or explanations were given. I fully understand if the preparation takes time, but a waiting time of more than 90 minutes is not acceptable. So it is proper for the waiter to provide us with an update and point it out. We didn't get a second round of drinks either, so at least the waiting time was not used, but we were still thirsty. Then the subject of "hygiene". The menus were totally rancid, sticky and dirty. Especially now, menus should be disinfected regularly. There is an offer that the menu can be called up via a QR code with the smartphone, but none of us had internet reception and there was no WiFi for guests either. In the background, the waiter dropped the cutlery for the guests on the floor at another table and then simply placed it on the table. It was the worst restaurant visit ever!
Very tasty and friendly. Again and again. Nice park
Stay away from brunch in Corona times. After we had landed in the locality during a hike and caught a glimpse of the buffet, we really wanted to test it out ourselves. Then Corona came and buffets were not possible. Recently the news finally came that it was working again. The buffet with a rich selection of sausages, corn flakes and sausages was announced on the website. We then reserved a table. On the phone they said that we are the only ones at the moment, but nothing more. We were looking forward to our lovely weekend trip. Especially since the location of the restaurant invites you to go for a walk after brunch. Then the time came. We were there around 10:05 a.m. The place was actually empty. Only one other table was occupied by 3 people. No trace of the rich buffet yet. We were told that everything was still being prepared and that it would start immediately. We were then supplied with coffee and the buffet was opened at 10:25. As you can see in the photo, there wasn't much to see of the promised buffet. Rich sausage consisted of 3 different types of sausage (not yet cooked ham), a very carelessly prepared plate with tomato mozzarella, 3 different types of cheese and a small selection of baked rolls. Scrambled eggs were brought to the table to order. After our complaint that quark or yoghurt cannot be found yet, a small bowl with natural yoghurt was added. No fruit, just yogurt. I then had to mix this with a little honey on my plate with a knife and fork and eat it. By the way, we could have chosen something from the menu for the main course, since the buffet is not made for the number of people. We couldn't take it any longer and left the restaurant before lunch, deeply disappointed. For our sad breakfast with a coffee we were allowed to pay 9 € p.p. pay. Unfortunately, the breakfast was such a disappointment that we drove not only hungry but also angry on the way back. When making the reservation you could have pointed out the extremely stripped-down buffet. I left my mobile phone number when making the reservation so that you could have called at least 1 day in advance that there are only 2 reservations and therefore the buffet does not take place in full. Instead, you let people drive to the pub for half an hour full of anticipation and then disappoint them deeply. Especially in the Corona time, when the gastronomy is doing so badly, I would have hoped for more to show people that his restaurant is worth a visit. What a shame.......
Very nice area here. The beer garden was well attended. Unfortunately, the spaghetti ice cream ordered was a finished product and too expensive for that. The service was friendly but should be more attentive. But we will come back and then try something different, because the dishes of the other guests looked very good.
My sister and I ordered waffles there that looked very tasty but unfortunately the taste was the worst waffles I have ever eaten. I didn't know that you could fiddle waffles like that 😐 they were very dry and "crackled" in the mouth. The cherries on the waffle just made it edible. The vanilla ice cream was unfortunately also disappointing because there were several pieces of ice made of water in the ball, which shouldn't be. The service was unfortunately also disappointing, as it took forever until someone came to the table, but at least they were very friendly to serve. We asked the chef to revise the waffle recipe 😅 Should we take a bike break there again, then only for a drink. Too bad.
We needed to wait 45min for 2 bowls of soup... Lukewarm soup. The view from the garden is great though
Unfortunately, as is the case with many restaurants that do not rely on regular customers, the quality of the food is very poor. My mushrooms in the bread pot were tasteless and cold, the herb quark without herbs and the bread old and hard ... doesn't work at all! The waiter earned one star because he reacted very confidently to the criticism and took the food off the bill. Kind regards Michael Bersch
Still good. I am happy to come here with my family. The food is good, something for every taste
We had to wait over an hour for our food. During this time, the service didn't even come to us to ask for new drinks. When we only wanted to pay for the drinks to go, the food came. The bread in the bread cups was hideous, The mushrooms in them were spiced. The quality of the sausage salad is not particularly good. There is only one star for the currywurst and french fries, although you can't go wrong with that.
Super nice ambience, with a wonderful view of the great Müngsten bridge. Staff was very friendly, and the food tasted very good 👍 we will be back 😊
cozy outdoor dining with good cuisine. Also highly recommended for a snack.
Top of the Top in Remscheid!
The Sunday brunch was outstanding! The service was friendly, attentive and always available for special requests. The offered dishes were super delicious and made a fresh impression. The kitchen in general was very convincing. I have no negative criticism, but am completely convinced of a single visit!
Nice coffee & restaurant in the bridge valley. Beautiful landscape on the Wupper with maintained bridge park. Also great for kids, water, playing on large lawns. Everything under the Müngstener bridge. Friendly service good coffee with waffles or Kuchen.Die other dishes are absolutely delicious. Lovely property.
Top Event Location!
Great place to eat and hang out.
A nice restaurant on the river prices as in most recreational places. Beautiful views of peace and quiet. Car parks up to 350m free, along the river very nice promenade. I recommend to escape from the city

After a visit to the Müngsten Bridge Park, we were here three of a snack. The waffles and the potato wedges including the dip were very good. The service was friendly. The prices are ok too. All in all a nice restaurant where you can eat and drink after a walk.
